The Five (5) days, advanced diabetic nursing foot care workshop is specially designed for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs) to help them realize the importance of Diabetic Nursing and Footcare. The workshop is delivered by a team of experts in their relevant field and maintains a balance of theoretical lectures and practical demonstrations throughout the session to carefully disseminate the knowledge to the workshop participants. One of the most critical complications of Diabetes, is diabetic foot care, which is often ignored by the patient and thus remains undiagnosed for a long period of time leading to severe complications and sometimes amputation of the lower leg.
As per the survey on diabetes, millions of patients worldwide are affected by diabetes. With the many patients diagnosed with diabetes, approximately 90% will die as a result of complications of diabetes, including gangrene, amputation of the foot. The nurse can play a very important role in providing effective foot care treatment in collaboration with the client, and the multidisciplinary team in the management of patients diagnosed with diabetes.
This course follows current best practice guidelines and evidence-based practice regarding foot care treatment and assessment.
